Mission
The BMOA of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana is a membership organization of McDonalds owner operators who are dedicated to empowering minds and building leaders in the communities they serve. The members are also committed to exhibiting leadership, supporting education and health-focused initiatives while developing sustaining partnerships in the African American community.
Education
Through the signature program Write to Achieve!, the BMOA reaches more than 2,000 area children by encouraging the importance of reading, writing and life skills. The group is also involved in several other education focused initiatives including the Chicago Football Classic’s college program, UNCF and many others.
Employment and Career Development
McDonalds has a robust employment program though its McState initiative. Several BMOA members had their start as employees at the store level later rising up to become owners of stores in the communities they serve. There are several career paths at McDonalds from working at the Oakbrook headquarters to beginning as a crew member at your local store. Employment and career opportunity information can be found at www.mcstate.com.
Entrepreneurship
The BMOA embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship and encourages the next generation of McDonalds owner operators in their community. Not only is the organization comprised of entrepreneurs but they support partnering with organizations and individuals that value the power of ownership and giving back to the community.
